Maureen Howard

Maureen (Mikey) Howard represents clients in such diverse areas as divorce and parenting issues, denial of Social Security claims, civil disputes, personal injury cases, landlord-tenant litigation, and estate planning matters. She has practiced extensively in the district courts, superior courts, probate courts, and family courts throughout the state. In addition to representing clients in divorce litigation, she has extensive experience as a mediator, and often works with couples who seek to end their marriages amicably, without court intervention.

Additionally, Mikey has been involved with numerous successful New Hampshire Supreme Court appeals, and has the knowledge necessary to take your case to the highest court in the state, if necessary.

Mikey's work as an intern in the Civil Bureau of the New Hampshire Attorney General's office and as a judicial intern for The Honorable Norman H. Stahl of the First Circuit Court of Appeals has provided her with extensive insight into the legal process, This experience is invaluable in analyzing complicated cases more effectively.

She is also a registered nurse and recently retired from a per diem position in a CCU/ICU in Bay Shore, New York. She earned CCRN certification more than 20 years ago. While in law school, Mikey worked in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit of the Mass. General Hospital, caring for critically ill patients from all over the world. With over 30 years experience a critical care nurse, she is familiar with the dynamics of stressful situations, and has developed important skills for handling sensitive issues on behalf of her clients.

Prior to becoming an attorney, she earned an undergraduate degree in French and a master's degree in English, as well as New York State teaching certification.

Mikey currently serves on the Board of Directors of the HUB Family Resource Center in Dover, NH. She is a past president of the Board of Directors of the Oyster River Otters Swim Team in Durham, NH, and was the Spanish coordinator for the World Language Club at Mast Way School in Lee, NH. She and her husband are the parents of four children.
